Bring forth a new era of feminism one where we come together and share experiences, ideas, and challenges.
By shifting the conversation away from the traditional view of feminism, we can uncover a greater diversity of womanhood within our modern world.
When we encourage an open and vulnerable dialogue about gender-based issues will we be able to establish tangible solutions to the root of the problem.
This is precisely what these authors are presenting in these 5 books for the feminine.
In this modern-day fashion, instead of burning our bras and snarling at the opposite sex, we are fangirling not only each other on, but supporting our fellow evolved men to stand alongside us in smashing the patriarchy and outdated gender roles for good.
Grab your blankets, fuzzy socks and a hot drink – these pages will have you locked in.
*I present these five in no particular order of favouritism.
Women Don’t Owe You Pretty / Florence Given
Perhaps the fiercest book on feminism yet!
It’s an eye-opening read, urging us to think beyond pre-imposed gender roles and become liberated from outdated standards set by the patriarchy.
Ultimately, it invites us to recognize our worth and truly embody the power of self-love. Also, the illustrations are on point!
Rise Sister Rise / Rebecca Campbell
The book I didn’t know I needed until I read it.
It was packed with so much wisdom that before I gifted it to my friend I made about 50 page scans!
The author encourages that we women, through healing our insecurities and inhibitions, are capable of immense inner strength and intuition. This can be used to create positive change in our lives and throughout the world.
By connecting to our Shakti (power) and wisdom and embracing our unique capabilities, we can unlock our true potential and become the joyous and powerful women we were meant to be.
How Women Rise / Sally Helgesen & Marshall Goldsmith
The 12 behaviours discussed in the book are not only applicable to the workplace but they can also be used to assess how we handle certain situations in our personal lives.
The behaviours, such as taking initiative, being assertive, and taking risks help to identify how well we make decisions and how confident we are in implementing them.
By examining our habits and understanding their reasons, we can be more discerning about the choices that lead to our fulfilment and ultimately our success.
A Radical Awakening / Dr. Shefali
The title says it all – a blunt wake-up call to women on how we have been conditioned to play small through living in a patriarchal society. Also, how we can break free and live in authenticity of who we are.
A journey to one’s true self. What I appreciate about this book is the brief inclusion of men and how they have also been negatively affected by the patriarchy.
More Orgasms Please / The Hotbed Collective
I felt some resistance at first about including this book in the list yet upon reflection I realized it was most likely stemming from a feeling of shame.
Shame is a key factor that has caused women to repress their sexuality since umm … possibly the beginning of time.
This book finally calls forth the celebration and liberation of female pleasure because it 100% matters!
P.S. Please consider buying independent or used bookstores.
Thanks for reading!
